Grace Lutheran School is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). During our last evaluation, Grace Lutheran school received the highest marks attainable by WASC – a six year clearance.
Our Kindergarten through 8th grade teachers are required to have a California teaching credential. Our teachers also attend seminars regarding classroom management, curriculum and the use of technology in the classroom throughout the year.
Our Junior Kindergarten classrooms allow no more than 20 students with a full-time teacher aide. Kindergarten has a maximum of 24 students with a full-time aide. First and second grade each have up to 24 students with a part-time aide. Third through fifth grades are considered full with 24 students. Sixth through eighth grade have a maximum of 28 students.
Junior Kindergarten through 6th grade have instruction with a separate instructor in Art, Music and P.E. Our first through fifth grade students participate in the UCI Mind/Math Program. The sixth through eighth grade students have the ability to take advanced band, music theory, advanced art, S.T.E.A.M. classes, and M.U.N. as their electives. We also offer beginning band for fourth through eighth grade students before school.
Yes, our students attend chapel every Wednesday morning from 10:40 – 11:15 a.m. Parents are also welcome to attend.
Our Jr. Kindergarten through second grade school hours are 8:15 am – 2:30 pm
Our third through fifth grade school hours are 8:00 am – 2:45 pm.
Our sixth through eighth grade middle school hours are 8:30 am – 3:00 pm.
The school office is open from 7:30 am – 3:30 pm.
Grace’s fourth through eighth grade students have the option to compete in volleyball, basketball, flag football, and roller hockey. Tryouts are held to determine which team the students will be on. All students who register will participate in the sport of their choice.
Yes, we encourage our parents to volunteer in the classroom, during school events, driving on field trips, etc. At Back to School Night in September teachers typically have sign-up sheets available for various volunteer opportunities within their classrooms.
Yes, our rec club is open for students from 7am – 6pm. We offer many different activities such as cooking club, homework club, art and sciences to name a few.
